Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the shop to work at all; the rest are only set if you agree to them.

Your choice

When you first arrive, a banner asks you to accept or refuse everything that is not strictly necessary. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and refusing changes nothing about what you can buy or see.

You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which the banner asks again.

Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set before you have chosen.

Strictly necessary

These make the shop work. They do not require consent and cannot be refused without breaking the site.

  • wp_woocommerce_session_… — links your browser to your basket on the server. WooCommerce. Session, or 2 days.
  • woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart — tell the page whether the basket has changed. WooCommerce. Session.
  • ormevale_currency — remembers whether you shop in euros or in US dollars. This site. 6 months.
  • orm_consent — records what you accepted or refused in the banner. This site. 6 months.
  • __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid — fraud prevention during card payment, set by Stripe on the payment step. Stripe. 1 year and 30 minutes.

Audience measurement

Set only if you accept analytics cookies. They tell us which pages are read and where visits come from, so we can improve the shop. We do not use them to identify you.

  • _ga, _ga_… — distinguishes visitors and sessions. Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Up to 13 months.

Advertising

Set only if you accept advertising cookies. They let us measure whether an advertisement led to a visit or an order, and show our pieces to people who have seen them before. If you refuse, no advertising cookie is set and no advertising tag is loaded.

Managing cookies in your browser

Your browser can also block or delete cookies, from its privacy settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will empty your basket and prevent checkout.

How your data is used more generally is described in our Privacy policy.
